In July 2023 I travelled to the UK again to look at males, including FTCh Amancio Tirpitz of Flypatch called Drew.

He lives with Tim Brain, who also owns a few of his offspring.

Drew is a very open and chilled male dog who always likes to carry things around. He and Tim have qualified for the IGL Retriever Championship several times.
Drew’s parents FTCh Flypatch Alfa and FTCh Amancio Swift were also very successful at field trials.

I had Flypatch Alfa under closer consideration a few years ago for Gem’s second litter (which unfortunately never materialised). That’s why I’ve never completely lost sight of his offspring 😉

Flypatch Alfa’s sire line goes back to the bitch FTW Collaroybanks Willow, who in my opinion has passed on a very solid working line and can also be found in Haru’s dam line.

Drew’s dam FTCh Amancio Swift also has some good working dogs in her pedigree, the best known are probably FTCh Darleigh Thunderbolt on her father’s side and thus also FTCh Craighorn Bracken with the dam line of FTCh Lochmuir Bonnie and on her mother’s side FTCh Flashmount Socrates and FTCh Kenwu Mackeson of Craigfelin.

All in all, a very promising pedigree for what are likely to be good and stable working dogs 🙂
I found Drew to be very unobtrusive in handling, he doesn’t push himself into the foreground and yet is always there, simply pleasant! He is an open male dog who approaches things.

Drew now has several successful offspring, two of which I had the pleasure of meeting.
Both are very open-minded and friendly. Drew’s offspring are very well built and strong, and the health results are also good, which speaks very much in his favour.

I was also thinking about maybe using one of the offspring for the next litter, but ended up sticking with Drew 😉

As Drew carries yellow, there will once again be a mixed-colour litter. I’m really looking forward to this mating and assume that the combination of Haru and Drew will produce some very nice pups ❤️
